This film presents a brief history of Coast Guard aviation from 1916 to World War II (WWII). A typical modern rescue is shown. After a call for assistance, a Coast Guard helicopter, Sikorsky HH-3 (S-61), is scrambled. The victim is an injured woman, and she is rescued from a boat. The helicopter then arrives at a helipad near a hospital with the injured party.
