Video Title:
Rising Together through COVID-19 - Essential Workers: Food Service
Description:
Many of the systemic inequities that marginalize Asian American and Latino communities have been intensified by the effects of COVID-19, making our communities more vulnerable. Asian American and Latino community members have found ways to act, inspire and uplift those around them by seeing themselves as part of solutions for equity and belonging. In this video, meet Ching Hsia and Juan Franco, who talk about their experiences working in the food service industry during the COVID-19 pandemic. “Rising Together through COVID-19" is a video series collaboration between the American Latino Museum and the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center that centers Asian American and Latino frontline workers across the country who share their stories and lived experiences through the pandemic. The conversations you’ll hear in this video, and others, touch on themes of equity, belonging, and identity.
