Description:
Join us online on May 21, 1-2 p.m. EDT for the National Youth Summit on Woman Suffrage: The Ballot and Beyond. Learn more and register here: https://s.si.edu/nys Tuesday, May 21, 2019 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. EDT Are the tactics used by suffragists to fight for political power still effective? On May 21, join us and thousands of students from across the country for a one-hour webcast panel discussion. Together, we will examine the strategies used in the woman suffrage movement and explore how this history can inform our actions in the present and future. Attendees will have the opportunity to pose questions directly to panelists, engage in conversation with peers, and make clear connections between history and critical questions in our democracy today. The summit is a free online program, but we encourage attendees to register. The National Youth Summit is made possible by a generous grant from The Coca-Cola Foundation. This project also received support from the Smithsonian American Women’s History Initiative.
