Video Title:
Art of Science: Session 3 - Film and Photography
Description:
Can science influence the arts in extraordinary ways as the understanding of our natural world evolves over time? We are pleased to be exploring this connection in a new live virtual programming series called “The Art of Science: Conversations with Creatives in Science” featuring a variety of visual artists, writers and photographers with scientific backgrounds in a conversation about how their scientific understanding of the world influences, enhances and guides their art. The panelists for this session are: Claudio Contreras-Koob is a conservation photographer that has dedicated the last 30 years to bring awareness to the public of the importance of nature and conservation, Paul Clerkin is a shark researcher and a filmographer whose work has led him to producing shark documentaries, and Colin Foord is a coral aquaculturist, artist and filmmaker in Miami, where he developed the world’s first multimedia coral aquaculture studio.
