The sixth Living Earth Festival continues to inform the public about issues of environmental concern and focuses on traditional agricultural practices, renewable energy, green technology, living healthy, active lifestyles, and the importance of Native foods in our diets, while also including celebration through music and dance. In this segment, the Youghtanund Drum Group, an intertribal group from the Richmond, Virginia, area shares traditional songs and powwow-style dances. This is their first of two performances of the day. This performance was recorded in the Potomac atrium of the National Museum of the American Indian on the second day of the three-day festival, July 18, 2015.
