Video Title:
Designer Ronald Clyne on His Work for Folkways Records [Interview Video]
Description:
The late artist Ronald Clyne (1925-2006) designed hundreds of album covers for Folkways Records, owned and operated by Moses Asch. In this video, he discusses his love of art and music from around the world, and his working relationship with Asch. After Ronald Clyne’s death in 2006, Smithsonian videographer Charles Weber created this tribute to the artist from Margaret Asch and D. A. Sonneborn’s 2005 interview with the artist at his home in Brooklyn, New York. The entirety of the documentation is available in the Ralph Rinzler Folklife Archives and Collections of the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage.
