Thursday, August 19 | 2:30 – 3pm DC area singer, David Hammett returns for another session of “Songs for your Soul.” His smooth voice is sure to warm your heart and soothe your soul. David Hammett is a well-known singer in the Washington Metropolitan Area. He is versed in various styles of music including but not limited to, Jazz, Rhythm & Blues, and Gospel. David has been a part of many stage productions, most recently, “Black Nativity” at the Anacostia Playhouse. He has served as worship leader at various churches and is a part of many worship teams and Gospel choirs. Mr. Hammett’s band HDavid performed a tribute to Marvin Gaye at ACM’s event, Make Me Wanna Holler, Exploring DC’s Music Legacy. #Take Time Thursdays with the Anacostia Community Museum gives participants a chance to take time for wellness, health, and creativity with artists, thought leaders, performers, wellness practitioners and others. Take a 30-minute break with us from 2:30 - 3:00 p.m. every other Thursday and boost your mind, body and spirit.
