Video Title:
Color Lives: A Conversation about Art, Life, and Fashion
Description:
Textiles serve as the most engaging and tactile vehicle for color and life. They wrap, protect, and define us, and tell stories of the maker, user, and culture in which they were woven. This lively conversation with fashion curator, Dilys Blum; artist, Sheila Hicks; and designer, Luca Missoni will cover topics related to current exhibitions and recent projects related to textiles, the influence of the fine arts on their textile making and thinking, and how textiles have been woven from each of their lives. This program is presented in conjunction with the exhibition, Color Moves: Art and Fashion by Sonia Delaunay, the first museum exhibition in the United States devoted to her fashion and textiles.
