In this video clip, G. Arthur Cooper and Richard E. Grant demonstrate how fossil specimens are etched out of a rock using an acid etching technique. The demonstration took place in the Acid Etching Room in the National Museum of Natural History during an interview with Pamela Henson on May 18, 1987.
