Apparently this work is a promotional piece for an unnamed [American?] women's clothing manufacturer, featuring printed fabrics with designs based on the work of eight French artists. Although the manufacturer is unnamed, the stylized head of a crowing red rooster (possible trade mark?) appears throughout the work.
The list of artists is printed on the front paste-down endpaper of the portfolio: Boutet de Monvel; Pierre Brissaud; Georges Lepape; Pierre Mourgue; Zyg Brunner; Guy Arnoux; A.E. Marty; Benito.
The portfolio holds eight unnumbered double leaves, with printing on the facing sides (the versos are blank).
