Notes:
Although the Limba, and Kuranko in northeastern Sierra Leone regad themselves as culturally distinct from each other, the archaeological record blurs these distinctions. Material culture evidence of defensive sites, houses, shrines, and pottery suggests greater similarity than difference -- a cautionary lesson for archaeologists in reading the archaeological record for ethinic identification and delimitation of cultural areas.
