SCNHRB copy of pt. 2 (39088013952932) has two different versions of the half-title bound in (apparently both the cancellans and the cancellandum); cf Freeman, no. 8. A typed note on a slip of paper, referring to an article by C.D. Sherborn on the publication dates of the parts of the mammalia volume, is mounted on the verso of the original front cover.
SCNHRB copy of pt. 3 (39088013953153) has bookplate: Smithsonian Institution Libraries. Purchased from the Cullman Endowment. With blind-embossed [bookseller or binder] stamp on back free endpaper: "Specialty in rare works of art, W.S.P." There is a blank piece of paper mounted on the front paste-down endpaper, apparently covering over the bookplate of an unidentified former owner.
SCNHRB copy of pt. 3 has a later green half-cloth binding with marbled paper boards and marbled edges. A few of the plate numbers have been slightly cropped.
