SCNHRB has three copies; c. 1 and c. 2 each have v. 1 and v. 2 bound together in one volume; c. 3 is bound in two volumes. The illustrations are hand-colored in c. 1 and c. 3, and uncolored in c. 2.
SCNHRB c. 1 (39088007406721, for 2 v. in 1) has inscriptions from former owners on half-title: "Carolina" from Oliver, Sept. 19, 1901; O.M. Dodge. With stamp on verso of t.p.: Smithsonian Institution National Museum, June 19, 1946; accession no. 332207.
SCNHRB c. 1 has two reprinted articles in pocket inside front cover: J. SCNHRB c. 2 has an old half-leather binding with marbled paper boards and a gilt-tooled spine. Housed in a later black buckram portfolio.
SCNHRB c. 3 (v. 1, 39088007406713; v. 2, 39088007407414) has bookplate: Collection of William Schaus, presented to the National Museum, MCMV.
SCNHRB c. 3 has the autograph of a former owner on front free endpaper: N. Goronovitsch.
SCNHRB c. 3 has an old gilt-tooled half-leather binding with marbled paper boards and marbled endpapers.
