A form printed on green paper from the publisher is tipped in at the front of the volume, which reads: "Humphrey's History of the art of printing, 1 vol. impl. 4to. The first issue consists of 300 numbered copies ... After their dispersion, a small second issue will be made, and the stones are guaranteed then to be destroyed. Bernard Quaritch, London, December 1867."
The volume includes two plates numbered "5" and two plates numbered "10," both pairs of which feature the same image but printed in different colors. There are also plates numbered "5 1/2" and "32 1/2". Plates 14 and 94 are printed on double leaves.
