Continues Jackson's 1854 publication, A century of ferns (which also was issued as the 10th and final volume of Hooker's Icones plantarum).
Each plate accompanied by leaf with descriptive letterpress.
The plates are signed: Fitch del. et lith.; Pamplin imp.
Most of the plates are hand-colored; a few have actually been printed in green ink.
Plates 31 and 32 apparently misnumbered, matching to text for 32 and 31, respectively? The plate numbering has been corrected by hand by a former owner in the Cullman Library copy.
