This set apparently issued without the volume 4 that was published in Philadelphia by Carey & Lea.
Volumes 2 & 3 have imprint: Philadelphia, Carey, Lea & Carey, 1828. All three volumes were printed by William Brown.
Plates signed: drawn from nature by Titian R. Peale and A. Rider; engraved by Alexander Lawson.
A handwritten note in ink, signed C.W.R. [i.e. Charles W. Richmond], is inserted on a slip of paper just before title page of volume 1.
Stamp on title page: Smithsonian Libraries, Jun. 01, 1987.
