According to Helena Wright, NMAH Curator of Graphic Arts, two of the images may be salt prints or other early photographic copies of etchings, so may date from circa 1850. Wright's notes from reviewing the volume are available from the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum Library staff. DSI

CHMNKRB copy has stamp of the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing, Case no. 5, shelf F. With "597" handwritten in blue pencil on the upper left verso of the front flyleaf.

CHMNKRB copy has a quarter-bound dark green morocco leather binding with grey endpapers. The album's mounting paper is a heavy cream stock.
