According to Helena Wright, NMAH Curator of Graphic Arts, two of the images may be salt prints or other early photographic copies of etchings, so may date from circa 1850. Wright's notes from reviewing the volume are available from the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum Library staff. DSI
