SCNHRB has two copies.
SCNHRB c. 1 (39088003010170) has bookplate: Smithsonian Institution Libraries. Alexander Wetmore (with his autograph in ink on the front free endpaper); a newsclipping ([1] p.) from an unidentified English newspaper is laid in: "Some letters of Waterton the naturalist."
SCNHRB c. 1 has an old green half-leather binding with embossed green cloth-covered boards, raised bands, gilt-tooled spine and covers; and marbled endpapers and edges.
SCNHRB c. 2 (39088011237393) has [2], 16 p. of publisher's advertisements (the 2nd group is dated from April 1839) bound in at the end of the volume. Pages 5-6 of the 2nd group have been torn out.
SCNHRB c. 2 has the autograph of a former owner on t.p.: T.E. Partridge; a ms. pencil note on the front paste-down endpaper says "imported Jany. 1871"; a printed bookseller's label for "Godwin, bookseller, Bath" is mounted on the front paste-down endpaper; an embossed stamp for the Smithsonian Institution National Museum is on p. iii, with accession no.: 175117.
SCNHRB c. 2 has the publisher's blind-stamped green embossed cloth binding with gilt-lettered spine and yellow endpapers; the front free endpaper is wanting.
