Includes text of the Parkes reports, issued as no. C-400 in the series of British Parliamentary command papers, together with color reproductions of the 19 watercolors forming inclosure no. 3 of the reports.
Includes reproductions of selected pages of Jihē Kunisaki's Kamisuki chōhōki (Osaka, 1798), being those pages with illustrations.
Issued in a slipcase, with an extra suite of the watercolor reproductions in a portfolio.
CHMRB copy (v.1, 39088020204400; v. 2, 39088020204442) is number 128 of the limited edtion. The prospectus (2 unnumbered pages on 1 sheet) is laid in.
CHMRB copy has the publisher's bindings and slipcase: v. 1 (text) has decorated color-printed paper boards with red leather spine and gilt-lettered black spine label; v. 2 (facsimile color plates) has a gray stiff paper portfolio with black-lettered cover title; the slipcase is made of gray paperboard.
