SCNHRB copy 39088002472181 is imperfect: the second leaves of letterpress description for both plate 2 and plate 4 have been misbound between the first and second leaves of letterpress description for plate 1. H.S. Barber noted this error in ms. pencil on the first leaf of letterpress description for plate 4: "? pages disarranged for Notoxus bicolor see 7th preceding leaf. HSB, 1940."
SCNHRB copy has ms. ink autographs of former owners on t.p.: A.E. Wayland; W.P. Hay, Aug. 30, 1940. With stamp on t.p. verso: Smithsonian Institution, U.S. National Museum, H.S. Barber Collection.
SCNHRB copy has an old gilt-tooled black half-leather binding with gray embossed cloth-covered boards; with a gilt-tooled black leather cover label, marbled endpapers, and brown speckled edges.
