Summary:
"Within a group of twenty-eight panels painted by New Mexico santeros of a century or more ago there is an opportunity to display the dominant character of santero art ... While a group of twenty-eight cannot be considered as a complete survey of the potential range of either subject or stylistic mannerisms, this group contains twenty-one panels by the eight identifiable artists who seem to have made most of the retablos except for the class described as 'miscellaneous'"--Page 7.
