Two folded leaves are inserted after the title leaf, containing descriptive letterpress ("explicatio figurarum") on one leaf, and an engraved selection of diagrams numbered 1 through 25 on the other (facing) leaf. According to Curtis Schuh, "The plate was originally created as a large double plate, half engraved and half printed. However, due to its large size it is common to find it bound into the book as two plates." In some copies, the folded leaves are bound in at the end of the volume.
