Summary:
Edgar A. Mearns, an ornithologist, research associate, and honorary associate in zoology, with the United States National Museum, now known as the National Museum of Natural History, was one of three naturalists from the National Museum chosen go on the Smithsonian-Roosevelt African Expedition with Theodore Roosevelt to Africa in 1909. In this pose Mearns is facing towards the left.
