An Act Making appropriations for the government of the District of Columbia and other activities chargeable in whole or in part against the revenues of such District for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1947, and for other purposes
The sum of $393,400 is appropriated for the expenses of the National Zoological Park, including: personal services; erecting and repairing buildings; improvement of grounds; travel; purchase and transportation of specimens; purchase of one passenger-carrying vehicle; maintenance and operation of passenger-carrying vehicles; purchase of bicycles and motorcycles; revolvers and ammunition; purchase of uniforms and equipment for police and uniforms for keepers; books and periodicals; and printing and binding. No part of this sum shall be available for architect's fees or compensation.
