An Act Making appropriations for the Executive Office and sundry independent executive bureaus, boards, commissions, and offices for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1927, and for other purposes
The following sums are appropriated: $46,260 for the system of international exchanges; $57,160 for continuing ethnological researches among the American Indians and the natives of Hawaii and for the excavation and preservation of archaeologic remains; $7.500 for the cooperation of the United States in the work of the International Catalogue of Scientific Literature; $31,180 for maintenance of the Astrophysical Observatory; $6,000 for an additional Assistant Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution; $23,730 for furniture, etc. for the National Museum; $78,140 for heating, lighting, electrical, telegraphic, and telephonic service and traveling expenses; and $450,000 for continuing preservation, exhibition, and increase of collections from the survey and exploring expeditions of the Government.
Also $12,000 for repairs of buildings, shops, and sheds; $1,500 for purchase of books, pamphlets, and periodicals for reference; $450 for postage stamps and foreign postal cards; $29,381 for the administration of the National Gallery of Art; $90,000 for all printing and binding for the Smithsonian Institution, of which $7,000 shall be available for printing the report of the American Historical Association.
