Summary:
The following sums are appropriated: $132,500 for preserving collections at the National Museum; $10,000 for cases, furniture, and fixtures for the exhibition of collections; $11,000 for heating, lighting, electrical, telegraphic, and telephonic service; $500 for postage stamps and foreign postal cards for the National Museum; $50,000 for continuing the construction of roads, walks, bridges, water supply, sewerage, drainage, and for improving the grounds of the National Zoological Park, including salaries of employees; $9,000 for maintenance of the astrophysical observatory; $14,500 for expenses of the system of international exchanges; $40,000 for continuing ethnological researches among the American Indians; $12,000 for printing labels and blanks and for the annual volumes of the "Proceedings" of the National Museum.
For completing the repairs upon the Smithsonian building, any unexpended balance remaining to the credit of the appropriation for fireproofing, and so forth, shall be available.
