A history of the National Zoological Park and its animals by director, William M. Mann. Opens with a brief history of the zoo; recounts important collecting expeditions, including the Chrysler Expedition to East Africa and the Mulford Biological Exploration of the Amazon Basin, 1921-1922; and gives an overview of each animal group at the zoo, from the manlike apes to reptiles.
