Summary:
The exhibition "Chinese Calligraphy" is on display at the Freer Gallery of Art. It includes the only surviving rubbing of a funerary tablet, "Epitaph for My Wet Nurse," by 4th-century master calligrapher Hsien-chih Wang. Twelve hand scrolls acquired by the Freer Gallery through the Regents Fund in 1979, on public view for the first time, are also in the exhibition. The exhibition is organized by Shen C. Y. Fu, curator of Chinese art at the Freer and also a calligrapher himself.
