Letter from Joseph Henry, first Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution, to Ephraim George Squier, an archaeologist, December 5, 1850. In the letter, Henry discusses the shipping charges for some artifacts that Squier sent to the Smithsonian from Latin America. He also discusses Squier's suggestion that an archeological museum be incorporated as part of the Smithsonian Institution.
