Summary:
A diorama depicting the burial of a prehistoric child burial on Prairie Dog Creek in northern Kansas identified with the Plains Woodland culture is on display in the National Museum of Natural History's North American Archeology Exhibit which opened in November 1962. Exhibit highlights the fact that the child was buried with a variety of ornaments and implements and discusses prehistoric burial practices in the region.
