Summary:
At the end of the three-story high concourse in the Smithsonian Institution's underground complex, which includes the National Museum of African Art, the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery, offices, classrooms, and the S. Dillon Ripley International Center, is an illusionist mural by Richard Haas. The mural depicts through ancient stone arches the Arts and Industries Building and the Smithsonian Institution Building, the "Castle," both located above ground, adjacent to the underground complex.
