Photograph documents original state of painting before 1925. According to reference, after her niece Ernesta's divorce Beaux painted out William C. Bullit and substituted her sister, Aimee Ernesta Beaux (Mrs. Henry S. Drinker), in 1925. Henry S. Drinker later cut out and framed the portrait of Mrs. Drinker and destroyed the rest of the canvas.
