Summary:
Portrait of Mrs. Abraham White, Jr. seated with her body turned to the right, her gaze directed toward the viewer, and her right hand resting in her lap with her index finger marking her place in a small book. With her right hand she embraces her young daughter Rose standing beside her, her gaze directed off to the left, her right hand resting on her mother's shoulder, and her left hand holding two roses. Mrs. Abraham White, Jr. wears a black Empire-waist dress with a short puffed sleeves and a square neckline, both trimmed in sheer white lace ruffles. Around her head is a sheer white lace bonnet with ruffles around her face. Her daughter Rose has short blond hair and she is dressed in a white Empire-waist dress with short puffed sleeves and a square neckline.
