Summary:
A view of the industrial part of Pittsburgh along the Monongahela River, which is lined on each side with steel mills, smoke pouring from their smokestacks. In the foreground rows of railroad tracks follow the shoreline of the Monongahela, and trains travel to and from the warehouses located along the tracks. In the lower right, five small figures are at work on the railroad tracks. The train engines are followed by a trail of smoke, and more smoke is visible coming from a steamship that travels up the Monongahela River. The background is filled with green hillsides lined with trees.
