Summary:
Historical painting depicting an interior scene in sixteenth century Florence, where a collector, dressed in Renaissance attire, is seated on a stool by a desk, a coin held up in his right hand as he examine it. A small door on the front of his elaborately carved wooden desk is open, revealing a vase and a small box. On top of the desk there is a small chest and an open book. To the left is a tapestry drape pulled to one side, and to the right is a portion of a stone fireplace mantle carved with a face.
