Summary:
Elaborate monument with a female figure representing Charlotte standing in a niche adorned roses, flowers, birds, wreathes, fleur de lis, lilies, acanthus leaves, down-turned torches, a crucifix, and symbols of the pastimes she loved --books, musical instruments, drawing tools, as well as her favorite parrots. Above the figure of Charlotte is a star symbolizing immortal life. A butterfly with wings spread symbolizes her liberated spirit. Seventeen rose buds appear on a shield indicating her age at the time of her death. Flanking the monument are two kneeling angels.
