Summary:
A group of five allegorical figures arranged in three groups forming a frieze across the foreground, are from left to right, a female figure and a child representing a family left behind by a warrior; a fallen warrior holding a broken sword in his hand, his helmet on the ground nearby; and a female figure embracing a warrior as he is about to leave for war. The figures are arranged along a wall, which is adorned with a carved frieze. In the background there is a landscape.
