Summary:
Portrait of Mrs. Robert Cuningham seated on a low settee, her body turned slightly to the right, her gaze directed toward the viewer, and a few stems of roses held in her lap. She wears a dark dress with a ruched collar, and her dark hair is swept back from her face. With her left hand she passes one of her rose to her youngest son, Ben Yancey Cuningham, seated at her feet. Seated to her left are her daughter Anne Pamela Cuningham (1816-1875) and son John Cuningham (1818-1893).
