A bronze figure of a Civil War Soldier standing with his left foot forward, his rifle held vertically in front of him with both hands resting on the barrel and the rifle butt resting by his feet. The soldier wears a short belted jacket and a small cap. The sculpture is installed atop a tall granite base adorned on the front with a wreath carved in relief.
