Summary:
Bust portrait of L. L. Langstroth, the father of modern beekeeping. The head is cracked and open with real bees crawling out. His bow tie and back of jacket is honeycombed patterned with actual honeycomb emerging from his back. The skep on the lower shelf of the sculptor's stand symbolizes how Langstroth took bee keeping from the era of the skep to today's modern moveable frame hives.
