Summary:
The sculpture depicts Lewis and Clark, with a Clatsop Indian, and a flounder and Lewis' Newfoundland dog. Clark stands invictory, with Lewis kneeling in front of him, recording in his journal. The Clatsop Indian holds a flounder, so that the species can be recorded in the expedition's journals.
