Summary:
A classically draped female figure seated with her head lowered and her eyes partially closed. In her proper right hand she holds a palmetto leaf and in her proper left hand she holds a fireman's helmet inscribed with "Fire Department of Rye." The back of her chair bears a circular emblem containing a fireman's ladder, hose, pick, and horn, all radiating from the image of a helmet placed in the center. The sculpture rests atop a granite base that is adorned on the sides with a bronze wreaths.
