Summary:
Full-length figure of a Civil War soldier. He wears a uniform and cap. He stands at parade rest holding the barrel of a rifle with both hands; the butt of the gun rests on the ground in front of him. The bronze sculpture stands atop a tall square stone column. The front face of the column is ornamented with crossed flags. The column ends in a tiered base which has decorative bronze medals mounted on the front. The base ends in a single step.
