Summary:
A square shaft engraved with a bust of Christopher Columbus is topped with a globe representing the world. Before Columbus are depictions of his ships the Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria sailing on before a rising or setting sun. The shaft has a rough-edged bottom tier and is placed upon a square foundation.
