Summary:
Two relief seals decorate the top half of a bronze plaque. The seal on the left depicts the purchase of the Town of Bedford in 1680. Standing on the left side of the seal is a full-length figure of an Indian in ceremonial dress. His hair is cut in a Mohawk and he wears a feather at the back of his head. He shakes hands with a full-length figure wearing Pilgrim costume, including tall hat, cloak and buckle shoes. The relief seal on the right side of the plaque is the Seal of Bedford. The bronze plaque is mounted on the front of a concrete flagpole base. Another metal plaque on the proper right side of the base features the relief of an eagle with spread wings.
