Summary:
A portrait of Jasper Newton Smith (1833-1918), depicted at age seventy-three, seen sitting in a slightly ornamented chair. He has thinning hair and a moustache and wears a jacket, but no tie. He holds a silk hat with his proper left hand. The sculpture is mounted on top of the entrance to Smith's granite mausoleum.
