Summary:
This memorial to Alexander Hamilton who died during a duel with political rival Aaron Burr on July 11, 1804, features a bust of Alexander Hamilton resting on a tall stone base. Hamilton is dress in a jacket and a shirt with ruffles at the neck. His hair is pulled back and tied with a bow at the back of his neck. At the rear of the base is a stone boulder that served as the original base for the bronze bust. When Hamilton lay dying after his duel with Aaron Burr, he rested his head against this boulder. The sculpture and the boulder rest on a slate floor enclosed with a wrought iron fence.
