Summary:
Figure of Mary standing, head bowed, upper arms held close to the side and arms extended with palms facing front in a welcoming position. She wears a long belted dress, an ankle-length shawl, and shoulder-length veil. She is barefoot and stands atop rough-hewn marble. The slightly tapered base is formed by fieldstone faced with concrete. The front has a second facing of a grey granite slab. The base once supported a grey granite arch which framed the sculpture.
