Summary:
A sundial supported by a bronze sea turtle with a tilted half sphere on the turtle's back. The flat side of the half-sphere is the face of the sundial. At the top of the sundial are three interlaced bronze medallion bas-relief bust-length portraits of navigators Fortuno Ximenes, Juan de Cabrillo, and Sir Francis Drake. On the sphere side of the sundial are the continents of North and South America in bas-relief. The sculpture rests atop a granite Roman column with a fluted lower section. The pedestal is placed atop a wide three-tiered square base.
