Summary:
Two somewhat abstract figures of a male and female, holding items symbolic of science, art and literature. The figures stand with their backs to each other and their legs extended. The female figure, wearing a mid-thigh length skirt or dress, blows on a trumpet that she holds in her proper right hand. She holds an open book in her raised proper left hand. The male figure holds a book in his lowered proper right hand and raises a triangle in his proper left hand. The sculpture is mounted on a red painted base with four arched sections which create corridors for people to walk through.
